Rooted in Lindy Hop, Swing, and Jazz, we strive to acknowledge and appreciate their Black American origins. Through classes, music, parties, and collaboration, we bring people together and grow as a community.

Background Story
Randy, our founder, first stepped into the Lindy Hop & Swing Party in 2019 and instantly fell in love with the music, the dance and the welcoming community. This led him to learn more about the rich culture behind it. For him, it’s more than just a dance. It’s a way to connect with himself and with people from all over the world.
His heart has always been in social dancing. The journey hasn’t been easy. In a city like Cologne, finding the venues and organizing events was a challenge. Spaces were limited, and bringing a lesser-known dance scene into the spotlight took time and resilience. But little by little, things started to come together, starting with a spontaneous riverside dance with just two people, followed by local public events like Lindy Hop Night Fever and eventually larger international gatherings like The Night Train.
Living in the vibrant, creative city of Cologne inspired him to take a bigger step. That’s how Groove Station Collective was born in 2025, a fresh movement focused on connection, collaboration and celebration, while striving to honor and better understand the Black American roots of swing and jazz. A place to bring people together within the groove.
